My Tongue & Other Holes...

Ouch..

I've had a very sore tongue this week. The tip has been covered with tiny weeny, invisible, ulcers that have hurt like hell. I havent been able to speak without lisping and i've been dribbling like a year old baby. The only food i've managed to consume since sunday has been a couple of sandwiches and a piece of pizza although just now i managed a bowl of pasta bake.

I've had my tongue pierced.... AGAIN.
I had my first tongue piercing done last summer. We had taken Amy out to get hers done after weeks of her begging but she changed her mind at the piercers so i decided that i would have mine done instead. The piercing was suprisingly quite painless. The needle slid through like butter. Its nothing like biting your tongue... ..that hurts. Within an hour or so of having the piercing, my tongue swelled (this is a normal reaction) and felt really sore and like now, my tongue broke out in these nasty little ulcers. My second tongue piercing, i did myself. Ive been doing doing piercings for a good few years now so i felt confident enough. I used a sterile needle and because the piercing is nearer the tip of my tongue ive used a plastic retainer type 14mm bar with a flat back. That way there is no worry of an underneath ball wacking into the back of my teeth constantly. It feels a lot more comfortable with this type of jewellery too. If last time is anything to go by it should all be healed within a couple of days. By next week and after many salty water gargles, i should be talking properly and eating again! Different isnt it?

I like it

Labret..

As you can see in the photo, i also have my labret pierced (under my lip) My brother Darren did this for me about a year or so ago, again using sterile jewellery and a new canula. This piercing hurt enough to make me say "Oww!" Which is quite high on the 'piercing pain' level for me. It was a fast healing piercing and like my new tongue bar, i wear a retainer with a flat back.

Navel

I have a few other piercings that have been done over the years. My navel gained its first hole over 10 years ago. Back when my stomach was taught and flat :) Over time my skin has softened (or should that be sagged?) and the piercing ended up on the right hand side, so to balance it up i put one on the left hand side too. Then i put one above and below. Of all the piercings i have had that bottom one has got to be the second most painful! see My Tragus.

Stretching ears....

I started stretching my ears up about 2 years ago. I decided early on that i wouldnt get bigger than 10 mm. To stretch up my ears i used a piece of cocktail stick that i wrapped in sellotape regularly. As the skin relaxed i would stretch again with more tape until i reached about 3 mm. Then i continued the stretching over a few months by replacing the plugs with the next size up. Ive settled on 14mm. Andy has now stretched his up to 20mm, il never go any bigger than i already am. Did i just hear you say "Phew!" Mum?
Did i mention the second holes ive started stretching in my ears? Hehehe. At the moment they are 3 mm and have been for nearly a year. If i go any bigger on those it will only be another mil or two but i might just leave them how they are.

My Tragus

Last year i let Carly pierce my Tragus.. Big mistake! She somehow managed to go through the front and out of the side! It was her first ever piercing though. Then i agreed to let Andy correct Carlys wonky attempt.. Even bigger mistake!! He managed to cause more pain than i've ever experienced before! It was up there with childbirth! It took him a good few minutes to push the needle through. I swear he was grinding it as he pushed..! It got to the stage where i found myself laughing hysterically with the pain which set Andy off laughing whilst trying to finish off the piercing and the whole thing became ridiculous. Unless you like pain DONT EVER LET ANDY NEAR YOU WITH A NEEDLE!!!

Steel Sideburn..

In this picture, you can see my 'steel sideburn' as they're called. I did this last year. It was painless and needed no healing time. I thought maybe it would grow out but it hasn't shown any signs of growing out yet so i doubt it will now. i really like this piercing and the copy cats out there liked it too! (you know who you are!)

Well, i think thats about it, oh, other than my nose but then who hasn't got that?
I don't know for sure if il have any more piercings, this is mainly because i can't think of anything different, as you can see, i like my piercings to be a bit different to the norm'.. but im always open to ideas!
